Keno

KENO is a thrilling game that was first introduced in China around 200 B.C. It came to the United States with the immigrants and over time evolved into the game you now see before you. The KENO game is played with one or several traditional 80-numbered tickets and 20 balls whose function is the same as in a standard lottery. After each game you may choose to stay with the same spots you played (by clicking on REPEAT BET button) or pick new spots on the ticket(s). Different betting options are enabled as you place your marks.

The game of KENO is very simple and learning how to play it only takes a few minutes. In fact, if you know how to play the state lottery, you already know how to play KENO. In order to participate in the game, you need special KENO 'tickets', which can be found at tables throughout the casino. These tickets have 80 squares numbered 1 to 80 and arranged in rows of 10. The same numbers also appear on the 80 ping-pong balls that are located in a clear plastic sphere or a steel wheel, which is spun to toss around the numbered balls for a more random draw. There are different limitations as to how many numbers you can select depending on where you are playing, but naturally 20 would be the absolute maximum, since only 20 balls are drawn.

The KENO ticket consists of several additional areas that need to be marked in order to identify the game that you are playing. An area to mark the number of games as well as one to mark the number of spots or ways played is provided. The reason for specifying all this information is to avoid any conflicts or misunderstandings when it comes to claiming a prize. A space is also provided for you to write down the price per game and another one that holds the total price of the ticket, which depends on how many games you choose to play the ticket for.

To start playing, you have to select one of the four ticket types you want to play. The different ways to bet on a KENO ticket are discussed below. Having selected the type of ticket you will either have to mark your selected spots (STRAIGHT and SWEET SIXTEEN ticket types) or immediately (TOP & BOTTOM and THE EDGE ticket types) confirm your selection by pressing SUBMIT button. To add more tickets to the game use ADD TICKET button. You can play up to 20 tickets at a time. When you are finished adding tickets, press PLAY GAME button.

After the game is finished you can review each individual ticket results by using blue arrows on the right hand side.

STRAIGHT TICKET

The more numbers you chose that roll out on the balls, the higher is the payoff. You can play tickets with 1 through 12 or 15 marked spots.

Each ticket offers three different prices and payoff options. By pressing the A, B or C buttons the selection is made. The payoffs are shown in the table on the left-hand side.

TOP & BOTTOM

This ticket doesn't require spots to be marked. You are betting that the top or bottom part of the ticket will have fewer spots than the opposite part. The payoff depends on how great that difference is.

THE EDGE

This ticket doesn't require spots to be marked. 36 spots on the edges of the ticket are automatically selected. You are paid depending on the number of rolled out matches.

SWEET SIXTEEN

This ticket costs $3 and requires 16 spots to be selected by you. It is similar to the STRAIGHT TICKET but doesn't offer A, B or C payoff options. Another difference is that the payoff doesn't increase in the direct proportion to the number of matches. With all 16 numbers selected, the payoff is shown in the table on the left-hand side.
